And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
