Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
