And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
