Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
