When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
