So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
