The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
