The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
