And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 Of what they used to do. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
