He it is who sendeth down from the heaven water for you, wherefrom is drinking and wherefrom are trees whereas ye pasture your herds. 10 [and] by virtue thereof He causes crops to grow for you, and olive trees, and date palms, and grapes, and all [other] kinds of fruit: in this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think! 11 And He hath constrained the night and the day and the sun and the moon to be of service unto you, and the stars are made subservient by His command. Lo! herein indeed are portents for people who have sense. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 God has fixed the mountains on earth lest you should be hurled away when it quakes. Therein He has also made rivers and roads so that you will find your way. 15 And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided. 16 Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition? 17 If you count the favours of God you will not be able to calculate. Assuredly God is forgiving and kind. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
