It is He Who sent down water from the sky – you drink from it, and from it are trees you use as pasture. 10 With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought. 11 And He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand. 12 And there are also Signs for those who take heed in the numerous things of various colours that He has created for you on earth. 13 It is God who put the oceans at your disposal so that you could find therein fresh fish for food and ornaments with which to deck yourselves with. You will find ships that sail for you so that you may travel in search of the bounties of God and give Him thanks. 14 And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright, 15 As well as many other signs, as by the stars (you) find direction. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 Dead (are they), not living, and they know not when they shall be raised. 21
