He it is who sendeth down from the heaven water for you, wherefrom is drinking and wherefrom are trees whereas ye pasture your herds. 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 He has subjected to you the night, the day, the sun and the moon. The stars are subjected by His Command. Surely, in that there is a sign for a nation who understands. 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way, 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 If you count God's blessing, you will never number it; surely God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly. 19 But those whom you invoke, other than Allah do not create anything they are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, lifeless, and they know not when they will be raised up. 21
