(The tribe of) A’ad denied the Noble Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 And gardens and springs. 134 'Indeed, I fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 140
