Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who created the seven skies one above the other. Do you see any disproportion in the creations of Ar-Rahman? Turn your eyes again. Do you see any fissures? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 So they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Those who fear their Lord in secret will receive forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). 14
