۞ God says: "Do not take to two gods, for there is only one God. So fear Me." 51 And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allah that you fear? 52 Whatever blessing you have is from God, and to Him you turn for help when distress befalls you, 53 And then, when He averts the misfortune from you, a group among you starts ascribing partners to their Lord! 54 In order to deny the favours We have given them; so enjoy a little; for you will soon come to know. 55 They even appoint a share of what We have provided for them [to false gods] they know nothing of. You shall surely be questioned about the lies you have been fabricating. 56 And they assign to God daughters; glory be to Him! -- and they have their desire; 57 and when any of them is given the good tidings of a girl, his face is darkened and he chokes inwardly, 58 He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that which is announced to him. Shall he keep it with disgrace or bury it (alive) in the dust? Now surely evil is what they judge. 59 To those who believe not in the Hereafter, applies the similitude of evil: to Allah applies the highest similitude: for He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom. 60
