T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign: 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24
