Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
