Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And make my mission easy. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 And share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Consume them as food or for grazing your cattle. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of reason". 54
