He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 And remember You much. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour, 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 Recall, when your sister went along, saying: 'Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him?' Thus We brought you back to your mother so that her heart might be gladdened and she might not grieve. Moses, recall when you slew a person. We delivered you from distress and made you go through several trials. Then you stayed for several years among the people of Midian, and now you have come at the right moment as ordained. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They both submitted, “Our Lord – indeed we fear that he may oppress us or deal mischievously.” 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
