Moses said, "Lord, grant me courage. 25 Make my task easy 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 so that we exalt You 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They both submitted, “Our Lord – indeed we fear that he may oppress us or deal mischievously.” 45 He said, “Do not fear – I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
