My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] -- 146 in the midst of gardens and fountains, 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 And dwellings hewed out of mountains ingeniously? 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 Do not obey the order of the wasteful, 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)." 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful' 154 Replied he: "This she-camel shall have a share of water, and you shall have a share of water, on the days appointed [therefor]; 155 "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." 156 But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 So the torment took hold of them: verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 158 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 159
