'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 And ease for me my task 26 and my tongue fluent 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 and let him share my task 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
