And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam, they made obeisance, but Iblis (did it not); he refused. 116 Therefor we said: O Adam! This is an enemy unto thee and unto thy wife, so let him not drive you both out of the Garden so that thou come to toil. 117 It has been given to you so that you shall neither become hungry nor naked therein; 118 there, (you shall) neither thirst, nor suffer from the sun' 119 But satan whispered to him saying: 'Adam, shall I direct you the Tree of Eternity and a kingdom which never decays' 120 Adam and his wife ate (fruits) from the tree and found themselves naked. Then they started to cover themselves with the leaves from the garden. Adam disobeyed his Lord and went astray. 121 Then his Lord had mercy on him, accepted his repentance and guided him. 122 He said: Get forth you two therefrom, all (of you), one of you (is) enemy to another. So there will surely come to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, he shall not go astray nor be unhappy; 123 "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment." 124 He will say, “O my Lord, why have You raised me blind, whereas I was sighted?” 125 Allah will say: Thus came Our signs unto thee and thou ignoredst them; so that wise today thou shalt be ignored. 126 And thus do We recompense him who is extravagant and does not believe in the communications of his Lord, and certainly the chastisement of the hereafter is severer and more lasting 127 Is it not a guidance for them (to know) how many a generation We destroyed before them, amid whose dwellings they walk? Lo! therein verily are signs for men of thought. 128
