The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play, 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations – therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. 7 Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. 8 Then we fulfilled the promise unto them. So we delivered them and whom We would, and We destroyed the prodigals. 9 [O MEN!] We have now bestowed upon you from on high a divine writ containing all that you ought to bear in mind will you not, then, use your reason? 10
