The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" 3 Say: "My Sustainer knows whatever is spoken in heaven and on earth; and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing." 4 Rather they said, “These are confused dreams, but in fact he has fabricated it – but in fact he is a poet; so he must bring us some sign, like those who were sent before.” 5 Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 We did not give them bodies that needed no food, nor were they to live forever. 8 Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
