Before him Noah cried out to Us, and We heard his prayer. We saved him and all his household from a great distress. 76 And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs; indeed they were evil people, We therefore drowned them all. 77 And Dawood and Sulaiman when they gave judgment concerning the field when the people's sheep pastured therein by night, and We were bearers of witness to their judgment. 78 We made Solomon understand the law about the case and gave both David and Solomon knowledge and wisdom. We made the mountains and birds glorify the Lord along with David. We had also done to him such favors before. 79 And We taught him the art of making the coats of mail for you that it may protect you from your violence; are ye then thankful? 80 (It was Our power that made) the violent (unruly) wind flow (tamely) for Solomon, to his order, to the land which We had blessed: for We do know all things. 81 And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them. 82 ۞ We bestowed (the same wisdom, judgement and knowledge) upon Job. Recall, when he cried to his Lord: "Behold, disease has struck me and You are the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 We answered him and removed his affliction, and We gave his people, and those like them that were with them, mercy from Us, as a reminder to those who worship. 84 And Isma'il and ldris and Zul-Kifl! each were of the patient. 85 And We admitted them to Our Mercy. Verily, they were of the righteous. 86 And (remember) Dhu'n-Noon (Jonah of the fish), when he went away in anger and imagined We will not test him (with distress). Then he called out from the darkness: "There is no god other than You. All glory to You; surely I was a sinner. 87 So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers. 88 AND [thus did We deliver] Zachariah when he cried out unto his Sustainer: "O my Sustainer! Leave me not childless! But [even if Thou grant me no bodily heir, I know that] Thou wilt remain when all else has ceased to be!" 89 So We answered his call, and We bestowed upon him Yahya (John), and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him. Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. 90 AND [remember] her who guarded her chastity, whereupon We breathed into her of Our spirit and caused her, together with her son, to become a symbol [of Our grace] unto all people. 91 This community of yours is one community and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But they split up the order among themselves; (yet) all of them have to come back to Me. 93
