The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
