The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 They are the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
