The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 who give charity, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
