The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
