The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 pay their religious tax 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 These are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
