The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 Those are the heirs 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
