And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, utterly far-fetched is what you are being promised. 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
