I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and believe in His messages 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 “Do not implore this day; you will not be helped by Us.” 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility, 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
