O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 We already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their Lord nor were they humble; 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
