The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
