And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
