When Your Lord told Moses to go to the unjust people of the Pharaoh 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
