And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 "Now [as for me, I know that,] verily, these [false deities] are my enemies, [and that none is my helper] save the Sustainer of all the worlds, 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
