And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 "Now [as for me, I know that,] verily, these [false deities] are my enemies, [and that none is my helper] save the Sustainer of all the worlds, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
