And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your fathers? 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 nor any loving friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
