Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
