And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
