And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
