The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
