(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 Erect palaces (thinking) that you will live for ever, 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
