Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
