The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
