The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
