Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
